My 300 odd words are:

The Shoe Box is the first collection of short stories from UK based author James Smith. Five contemporary stories examining the human ability to deal with adversity, maintain that special spark and examine our obsession with competition and celebrity.

Gathering five star reviews this collection ‘each one different yet each brilliantly executed’ is filled with ‘characters, even the unlikeable ones, which are compelling’ and has left readers ‘feeling quite sad when I  realised I had come to the end of the book’ and ‘definitely eager to read’ new material.
