2010 I don’t wear a dress often!

Today is my birthday! Yep, it sure is and I’ve reached a milestone. It’s one of those birthdays where no matter if you flip the numbers backwards, you are still the same age!  I love it when you can flip the numbers around and be younger. (32? No, I’m not 32 this year, I’m only 23)  SEE! Isn’t that awesome? (And no, I’m not telling you which milestone I’ve reached. 🙂 )

Yep I was born February 3, 19–  Ha! There is no way I’m telling!

I’ve been wondering who came up with the idea to celebrate our birth. Is it just to show the passing of time? Letting us know we are getting older. Or is it to show how much we’ve grown over the years? And what is so special about a birthday anyway? The birthday fairy didn’t show up and leave me with a sparkly clean house, clean laundry, and less wrinkles. No, she told me I had to do that myself and she even gave me a new wrinkle! She said it added character. Humpf!

So many things change as we get older. We spend our childhood wanting to grow up and then wonder where the years have gone.

Our lists have changed. We once wanted Barbies and Tonka trucks, (Yes, I was, and still am a tomboy 🙂 ) Now we want jewelry and tools. Well not me, I’m a practical tomboy 🙂 I asked for a cmos battery for my old laptop, some triple A batteries for both wireless mouses, and a vacuum cleaner. I know, how exciting! LOL Maybe I should have asked for some new wrinkle cream… 🙂

Even as we blow out the candles we find our wishes have changed. We no longer wish for a pony. We wish for love and happiness for ourselves and others.

So as I blow out the candles on my birthday cake my wish is for you, my family and friends, to have a happy and healthy life and may all your dreams come true.

Now I’m off to see if the birthday fairy brought my Tonka truck that I wished for when I was 11. Gee that was…Haha! Nope! Still  not telling you how old I am. Just older than some and younger than others!
