Treat everyday as a new adventure

Sometimes…

Life gets in the way.

First off I have to apologize to John Thomas Buckley     http://lightningpen.wordpress.com

I am so sorry John that I haven’t gotten your interview up. I will do that as soon as I finish this post.

I normally try to stay on top of things and have interviews or guests posts up the night before, but this week things have happened that I have no control over. Tuesday afternoon my dad called me and said he had started bleeding. I told him to go to the hospital, but he said no I’ll wait till tomorrow. This isn’t the first time this has happened. My dad has Diverticulitis. My dad is very independent and stubborn and he’s the main caregiver for my step mom so he procrastinates. Anyway he had to call an ambulance not more than 30 minutes after I had talked to him. The thing is nobody called and told me until 5 a.m. the next morning, which was yesterday. I spent most of my day out there yesterday organizing care givers to stay with my step mom and finally getting home late yesterday afternoon I spent the rest of the evening on the phone with nurses, my dad, my step mom, two different care givers, my sisters and the list goes on. My dad is stable and receiving blood transfusions and will have a colonoscopy today, but surgery is the next step. This isn’t something that has just popped up, but has been going on for about 7 years now and yet still catches you off guard, so I will try and keep up over the next couple of weeks. If you see me falling behind, tweet me or yell at me on fb. I do try and check them every morning.

Now let me get John’s interview up for all to enjoy! Have a great day everyone will talk to you soon. 🙂

Oh And I do have to thank all the wonderful people who are care givers. You give so much for so little in return. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you. 🙂

  2. Best of luck to your dad. My mom had the same condition & I know how stressful it can be.

    • Hi Diana Thank you. It is stressful at times, but I’m hanging in there. My mom actually had the colon cancer and died from complications from that, but thankfully dad’s in good shape and his isn’t cancer. He’s pretty tough.

    • Hi Sydney He’s doing good so far. I’m just waiting now to see when they are going to do surgery. I talked to him 2 1/2 hours ago and he was in a good mood. And thank you 🙂
