See Me Through My Eyes
I was staring at my reflection in the mirror the other day and I saw some wrinkles, thin lips, and a not so perfect nose, but then I looked into my big blue eyes. “You’re beautiful.” I said and smiled.
See me through my eyes and you will see that I am kind, caring, and compassionate.
See me through my eyes and you will find a person that can be quirky with a sense of humor.
See me through my eyes and you will know a person, who can be quite serious at times, but who knows how to laugh in the face of adversity.
See me through my eyes and you will see a person who not only has experienced pain and suffering, but also love, happiness, and joy.
Don’t judge me by the color of my skin, the style of my clothes or the size of my shoes, but judge me by what’s in my heart and soul.
See me through my eyes and you can see that I am a beautiful person, a person with feelings, hopes, and dreams, just like you.

Lovely post Karen! see me through my eyes and you will see so much. But people see through their own eyes and do not necessarily see the beauty and compassion you speak of. But, we must walk in the shoes of others to see how they see.
Thank you!

Thank you, Susan. I look at it metaphorically. You are supposed to make a good first impression, but I think it takes more than that for people to show more of their true side. We all see things differently and we don’t all like the same things, but we can’t judge a person just from the outside.

Too true Karen, thank you. First impressions do count, but there is so much more behind – or in front – and judging anyone is arrogant on first impressions.

Very nicely said. A person should look beyond the wrinkles and gray hairs to see the real beauty of an individual. Wrnkles don’t often tell the right age of the person either. AtoZer http://www.writer-way.blogspot.com

Hi Michelle
Well I look at it this way, I earned every single one of those wrinkles! 🙂 As for the gray, I keep it colored, er covered. 🙂

I wish everyone thought like that. Nice work. 🙂

Me too 😉 Thank you, Anna. None of us are perfect, even models have their flaws, but I think there is good inside all of us.
